Typically I like to get the process started 6-8 weeks prior to dropping your stationary in the mail. This allows plenty of time for design, printing, assembly, and shipping. 

Stationery Timeline
Just a simple guideline to help you navigate when stationery should be in the mail

PRIOR to your wedding date:
> 9-12 months send out your save the dates
> 6-8 weeks send out your invites, although for a destination wedding, I would suggest 2-3 months.

AFTER your wedding date:
> 2-3 months mail your thank you cards and possibly new address cards

Please keep in mind there are different printing methods that will fit your budget.

Here is a quick explanation of the different types:

1. Flat Print
Printed digitally on premium card stock. 
Best for color drawings and vibrant colors. 
2. Letterpress
Metal plate impression creating deep texture. 
Works best on one or two colors, can be added with flat print.
3. Foil
Metal plate impression using metallic foil.
Best for creating shine and a luxurious finish, this can be combined with letterpress or flat printing.
